The Bergman method of facial reflexology is built on the same foundations as modern reflexology and uses a combination of Native American techniques and Asian body maps. Pressure techniques are applied to specific nerve endings (or reflexes) on the face which correspond to different organs, systems and glands in the body. Toxins can build up in the body during times of stress or illness and, by stimulating the corresponding reflexes on the face, the body can be restored to its natural state of balance and good health.
Working in close proximity to the brain and cranial nerves makes facial reflexology especially powerful and can be used by people suffering with sinus problems, tension headaches and migraine. Facial reflexology also helps to release muscle tension, increase the circulation to the skin and strengthen layers of skin tissue leaving the face looking smoother and more toned with a natural healthy glow.
Facial reflexology is a wonderfully hypnotic stress relieving treatment that is non invasive and gentle on the body. Special techniques are used at the end of the treatment to re-awaken the brain and ensure you feel energised and refreshed, making this an ideal energy boosting treatment.
A half hour standalone facial reflexology session is a great stress buster treatment as it allows sufficient time to work on the key reflexology points for relaxation and relief of stress-related ailments. However, for the best results, I recommend combining facial reflexology with either foot reflexology or natural facelift massage for the ultimate in relaxation and improved health and wellbeing.
